[Euless, Texas ] – The Tigers delivered a dominant performance at September 11th home volleyball games, securing clean sweeps against Radiant Stem Academy and ISI in both boys’ varsity and girls’ junior varsity matches.

Historical Rivalry

The Tigers have a longstanding history of victories over ISI, extending beyond volleyball to basketball and soccer. The tradition continued last night as the boys' teams extended their unbeaten streak against ISI.

Star Player's Connection

A notable subplot involved Ibrahim Akbar of the boys’ team, who has personal ties to ISI. Having spent the past three years at ISI, Akbar faced off against former friends, contributing to the Tigers’ triumph.

Match Highlights

The girls’ junior varsity team set the tone with a decisive 2-0 victory, followed by the boys’ varsity team’s commanding 3-0 win. The players, including Siraj, Adam, Nella, and Ruth, attributed their success to strong teamwork and commitment. “Teamwork is the key to our success,” said Siraj. “If we continue to improve, we’ll win all our games.”

Girls’ team captain Barbara emphasized the need for improved “communication” and “rotation” to further excel in the sport.

Handling Pressure

Pressure is an inevitable aspect of competitive sports, and the Tigers have their own strategies for managing it. Nella finds relief through prayer, while Ruth prefers to “move on” from mistakes. Siraj reported feeling no pressure at all, a sentiment possibly reflected in their 3-0 win. Adam, who has missed previous games, humorously stated, “He Is The Pressure.”

The Tigers continue to practice multiple times a week, with both teams optimistic about maintaining their winning streaks.
